Expedition Coat Test Wash

I test washed and dried the Expedition coat to see how it would hold up in laundry machines. I washed it as follows:

Machine Washing + Machine Drying:

• Machine: Top loading washer.
• Temperature: Cold water.
• Cleanser: Regular Detergent.
• Drying: Machine Drying normal cycle with one dryer sheet.

Results from machine washing only: The coat did not shrink, the fabric and color was fine, and everything was in place.

Results from machine washing + machine drying: The sleeve length and back length shrunk by 0.5 inch. Otherwise the coat was intact, the fabric felt normal, and the color was the same. 

Verdict: The coat should be fine in a machine wash, and air dry if you do not want it to shrink. If you are not sure, hand washing and air-drying would be the safest methods to preserve your coat.
