Free Nendoroid Shorts and Pants Pattern + How to Sew Guide

Nendoroid clothing aren't too hard to make, they're just very tiny teeny. Needle and thread are recommended as the pieces will be quite small for sewing machines. This tutorial will explain how to sew Nendoroid shorts/pants with a regular waistband.

Fabrics
    Felt. Felt does not fray and comes in many colors. It's a little more stiff but can work for clothing, and would be good for small details that can be cut and glued on top.
    Alova Suede/Suede. Most synthetic suede fabrics do not fray and if it does, apply a bit of fray check at the edges. Alova suede is the fabric used for most officially released plushes, it doesn't fray and has a soft feel.
    Pleather. Synthetic leather/pleather does not fray, but depending on the weight of the fabric, it might be hard to sew with.
    All other pliable fabrics. As soon as you cut the pattern, apply fray check to all the edges and allow to dry. The seams are very small; if you sew them first then apply fray check, the edges may have frayed too much.

Sewing Methods
    Needle and thread. The seams are only millimeters to centimeters long and can be sewn quickly with simple straight stitches.
    Machine. It's possible to sew the small parts with a sewing machine with careful precision, and maybe with using tear-away stablizers and exercising some patience. It may be be faster and easier to needle and thread some parts.
    Fabric glue. The pieces are small enough that fabric glue can hold the seams in place. Apply thinly with a toothpick and hold the pieces in place until dried. For small details, cut out the shapes and glue them carefully in place using tweezers.

You will need:

• Needle
• Thread
• Fabric of choice
• Fray Check
• Fabric Glue
• Velcro
• Toothpicks
• Tweezers
• Hot Glue
• Nendoroid Shorts/Pants Pattern

Instructions

To start:
     Cut the pattern out of the fabric. If using a fabric that frays, apply fray check to all edges and allow to dry. If you don't have fray check, fabric glue can be used in a pinch (use your fingers and brush a thin amount to the edges following the grain/direction of the fabric).
     Note: I made it a bit larger for it to fit over Sora's pants, you may need to adjust the pattern accordingly for the Nendoroid it's for.

To sew:

1. Right sides together, sew the waistband together with an 1/8 inch seam allowance (1/8 inch from the edge).
   
   
2. Right side together, sew one side of the crotch seam.
   
   
3. Open up the waistband and pants. Fold the waistband in half, and right sides together, pin the waistband to the pants while making sure the seams line up. Sew the waistband and pants together.
   
   
   
   
   
4. Fold the pant legs together and pin in place.
   
   
5. Sew the pant legs to its own side (not the crotch seam, just the pants straight inseam).
   
   
6. Carefully turn it inside out. Use tweezers if needed.
   
   
7. Cut out tiny velcro pieces. Longer pieces may be needed to tighten the waistband further. You can always glue more later on if you find it needs it.
   
   
8. Using hot glue, glue the velcro pieces to the waistband opening in the back.
   
   
9. Cut out details of the pants with fabric, apply fray check to the edges if needed. Glue them carefully with fabric glue: use a toothpick and dab tiny amounts at a time and hold them in place with tweezers. Hot glue is not recommended as the pieces are tiny and you'd risk burning yourself, use fabric glue to be safer.
   
   
10. Let the pants dry then try them onto your Nendoroids!
