Two new tops have been added to the shop for casual cosplay wear, based on Final Fantasy VII Remake: Tifa's Sporty dress and the Honeybee Inn girl costume.
Between Tifa's dress options of Mature, Sporty, or Exotic, I decided to design a top based on the Sporty dress option. In the game it looks a tad shiny (probably a printed leather/pleather), but I chose a soft polyester fabric for practical wear. I kept with the cheongsam stye with the short sleeves and mandarin collar and added the Tifa details: gray and pink edges, "V" cut sleeves, open front, and gray leopard print. I left out the flower decal as it would be a bit flashy for everyday wear, and changed the bow into a knot button for easy on/off.
Is it cheongsam or qipao? It's both actually. "Cheongsam" is the Cantonese pronunciation, "Qiquo" is mandarin, both are interchangeable and used based on the region.
The Honeybee top was inspired by the Honeygirls; I wanted to capture their outfit into a top. I chose knit fabric to make it form-fitting, then added fuzzy fabric details (like real life fuzzy bees), and added a peephole to the front. I opted to keep the back covered instead of exposed to add shiny bee wings to the back.
