The holiday season is upon us, cozy up with a hot drink. Use your favorite brand of hot chocolate and pair it with this super easy sea salt caramel recipe.
Sea Salt Caramel Sauce
Yields about 1/4 cup.
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Combine brown sugar, butter, and milk in a small pot. Bring to a gentle simmer while gently stirring to mix, stop stirring when the sugar has dissolved (otherwise the sugar with crystallize). Cook until thickened. Remove from heat; mix in sea salt and vanilla extract.
Make your favorite hot chocolate mix, top with marshmallows or whipped cream and sea salt caramel sauce.
