All sorts of metals and even harmful materials are prevalent in everyday objects. After a request from a customer, I decided to test all of SixOn's jewelry and products that are primarily metal for anything that may be present.
FIRST TEST: LEAD
|Swab each piece for 30 seconds with the tester
|Pink (if lead were present)
I swabbed each one and the tester remained yellow (above). You can see spots of dried yellow where it was swabbed (below):
SECOND TEST: NICKEL
|Swab each piece for 60 seconds with the tester
|Pink (if nickel were present)
The tester is a bit sooty from dust, it did not change to pink. The pumpkin hair clip also tested negative (I forgot to include it in this shot).
The Keyblade Bottle Opener was tested separately since it uses a different type of plating. I swabbed it vigorously for 1 minute and the pink was fairly faint.
THIRD TEST: CADMIUM
|Mix with alcohol then dab and leave for 10 minutes
|Blue (if cadmium were present)
The pumpkin hair clip also tested negative (I forgot to include it in this shot). Blue did not appear on the products nor on the cotton swab.
I followed the instructions to ensure the results were not skewed. In my opinion overall and including the test results above, SixOn's jewelry and metal based products are safe to wear and use. I have had these products in stock for years and have personally used them myself and gifted to others.
The tests and results were not altered in any way and were conducted with legitimate kits purchase online. These kits are available on Amazon, online shops, and hardware stores.
*Disclaimer: I am not a scientist or certified jewelry tester. This is based on my own personal experience from at-home test kits. I used only real, legitimate kits from reputable companies; different kits may yield different results. If you have an allergy, it is recommended to independently test all jewelry and metal products you plan to wear and use.
